Therapeutic humor is any intervention that promotes health and wellness by stimulating a playful discovery, expression, or appreciation of the absurdity of life's situations.

Humor is not just going out on the Internet and gathering a bunch of jokes. Humor is much more than that. "When you make me laugh, I'm not depressed anymore!" Professionals says that there can only be one emotion occupy one space at any given time. Therefore...you're either happy or you're sad, it's up to you.
Actually when struggling through cancer treatment seven years ago I strove to find irony and puns in everyday situations. I laughed with my cancer support group members as we related sayings and situations that tickled our funny bones. Those outside our "cancer club" might be hesitant or embarrassed to laugh at our banter. But we grew closer and more energised with each inside joke we shared.
